On the banks of the Volga in the city of Bor, Nizhny Novgorod Region, there is a factory of OOO Promtekhnika-Privolzhye, which manufactures milking robots and milk cooling units. Yury Korotunov, Executive Director of the plant, told Fermer.Ru about the level of localization of production, the productivity of Russian milking robots and the growing demand for them from livestock farms.

According to the manager of the enterprise, the plant was opened in 2015, the equipment is actively supplied to the regions of the Volga, Central and North-Western Federal Districts, shipments are also being made to Belarus.
- At the moment, the capacity of the plant is 8 milking robots per month, but this does not cover the growing demand. The plans include the introduction of the second shift, as well as the expansion of production facilities. The level of localization has currently exceeded 60%, and the plans are to ensure full import substitution by 2025, including electronics for herd management,” Yuri Korotunov comments.

The executive director added that about 20 robots and 10 milk coolers are always available in the warehouse at the plant, which allows for prompt deliveries to farms in the face of growing demand and a shortage of components. In addition, in all regions where the equipment of Promtekhnika-Privolzhye LLC operates, a dealer network is developed. For deliveries to remote regions, a service center and a spare parts warehouse are created simultaneously so that the arrival time of service engineers at the facility does not exceed two hours.
On April 14, a video with a review of the milking robot will be released on the pionerprodukt.by YouTube channel, as well as a number of publications about the company, the product, and reports from farms where PROMTEKHNIKA equipment is used.

The robots produced by us, Yuri Korotunov noted, are adapted to Russian operating conditions, the daily milk yield per robot is from 1,600 to 2,200 liters of milk - the breed of cattle, the productivity of cows and the organization of processes on the farm are no less important.

After the animal enters the box, the identification system is triggered, the data is analyzed and a decision is made to start the milking process, depending on the time of the last visit of the robot and information about the productivity of the animal. After that, the udder is processed, prepared with special brushes and milking begins. Quality control system in real time determines the direction of milk - varietal milkgoes into the tank, and off-grade into a bucket or sewer, the first trickles of milk are separated. After milking, the teats are treated with iodine, and the animal returns to its group or to the sanitary zone. At the same time, the robot not only monitors the flow of milk, its temperature and electrical conductivity, but also controls the content of fat, protein, lactose, urea, and when an additional analyzer is installed, it determines the level of somatics.

- Subject to the maintenance schedule and the use of spare parts and consumables recommended by the manufacturer, milking robots operate without interruption 24/7/365. The farm staff is required to keep the equipment clean, carry out deratting in a timely manner, control the availability of detergents, follow the message log on the robot’s screen,” says Yury Korotunov.
Farms operating Russian milking equipment note that as a result of the implementation of these solutions, they managed to improve herd health indicators and achieve good milk yields. Thus, Moloko Group LLC (Kaluga) reported that 8 robots and the Elochka milking parlor have been in operation on their farm for more than five years.
“We noticed that the animals are more comfortable in the robotic barn, there is also higher milk yield and better health indicators,” commented the representatives of the farm.
Representatives of Timiryazev LLC (Tatarstan) also spoke about the results of using robots:
- Our farm has been operating this equipment for more than two years. During this time, the quality of milk and milk yield increased by more than 15%. This year we plan to expand production and purchase 4 more milking robots.

Sales of equipment are carried out through the official trading house of the plant. Information can be obtained on the site robot.online
