Agrarians of Transbaikalia continue spring field work. Recently, farms have started sowing fodder crops, said Alexander Tyukavkin, deputy head of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.
“Traditionally, the sowing campaign in our region ends with the sowing of fodder crops. To date, annual grasses for fodder purposes have been sown on an area of 1.1 thousand hectares. This is 7.3% of the plan and 55% higher than last year. The work is carried out by agricultural organizations of the Aleksandrovo-Zavodsky, Zabaikalsky and Kalgansky districts,” the deputy minister said.
The total sown area sown with fodder crops this year in Transbaikalia will be 15.3 thousand hectares. Mass output of farms for sowing annual grasses is expected in the third decade of June.
