Potato yields in Transbaikal farms exceeded 2024 levels by 20%.

The potato yield in Transbaikal farms reached nearly 200 centners per hectare following the harvest campaign, according to Albina Koreshkova, head of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.
"Agricultural enterprises and farmers in Transbaikal have completed the potato harvest. Farms in the region harvested 542 hectares of potatoes and harvested 10,700 tons, 1,800 tons more than last year. The yield was 197 centners per hectare, compared to 20% lower last year at 159 centners per hectare," Koreshkova said.
The Chita District led the way in terms of gross potato harvest, with farmers harvesting 7,500 tons of tubers. Farms in the Uletovsky District produced 609 tons, while those in the Karymsky District harvested 470 tons. The open-field vegetable harvest
is also currently underway in Zabaikalsky Krai. To date, farmers in the region have harvested cabbage, carrots , and beets from 32.1 hectares, or 40% of the harvested area. A total of 902 tons of agricultural produce have been harvested to date.
