
As part of the visit to Yekaterinburg, the PRC delegation visited the Ural Agrarian University, the parties agreed on joint scientific and educational projects.
The corresponding agreement was signed by the rector of the Ural State Agrarian University Olga Loretz and the rector of the Northeastern Agricultural University Fu Qiang.
According to the document, the parties agreed to create “mirror laboratories” in food technology and a joint educational program, including academic mobility of students and teachers, joint research activities and publications.
Thus, representatives of the North-Eastern Agricultural University plan to send 20 students to the Ural Agrarian University in September of this year to take a course in the production and processing of agricultural products of animal origin. During the academic year, Chinese students will learn Russian, as well as get acquainted with food biotechnologies, study modern technologies for processing meat, poultry, milk, and learn how to create functional and combined food products .
“Today it is impossible to develop, conduct fundamental and applied scientific research and train in-demand specialists without international exchange. We certainly look positively at conducting mutual internships and joint research with Chinese colleagues. And we will be glad to see our cooperation not only in the field of food biotechnology. We hope that our partnership will become productive and will allow us to conduct relevant joint scientific research and help in training highly qualified personnel,” explained Olga Loretz, Rector of the Ural State Agrarian University, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor.
It is worth noting that, as part of cooperation with USAU, the North-Eastern Agricultural University has allocated five budget places for master’s and postgraduate studies with compulsory study of the Chinese language for the upcoming academic year.
“Visit to China of the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of USAU M.Yu. Karpukhin in June of this year strengthened the friendship between universities and showed further areas of cooperation. I am confident that we will be able to combine our resources, and our cooperation has every chance to achieve great success in science and training,” said Fu Qiang, rector of Northeast Agricultural University (Harbin, China).
During the visit to USAU, the Chinese delegation got acquainted with the scientific developments of university scientists and students on smart agriculture, breeding and seed production, storage and processing of agricultural products and much more.
“China and Russia are connected by a long history of development and close friendship. The border province of Heilongjiang has 78 universities and 140 cooperation agreements with Russian educational institutions. Our main goal is to contribute to Russian-Chinese cooperation in the field of education and strengthen the friendship of the two countries. On behalf of the Department of Education of Heilongjiang Province, I thank the rector of the Ural Agrarian University Olga Gennadievna Loretz for the warm welcome and express my gratitude for the willingness to cooperate,” emphasized Chen Yanliang, head of the Department of Education of Heilongjiang Province (China).
It is worth noting that, within the framework of international cooperation with China, the Ural State Agrarian University already has business relations with the Northeastern Agricultural University, the Northeastern University of Forestry and Shihezi University.
