Stavropol shared experience with colleagues from the Belgorod and Kursk regions

In the Stavropol Rosselkhoztsentr, a meeting was held with the heads of the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rosselkhoztsentr" in the Belgorod and Kursk regions Sevalnev Aleksey Anatolyevich and Khizhnyakov Alexander Nikolaevich.
Andrey Yuryevich Oleinikov, the head of the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rosselkhoztsentr" in the Stavropol Territory, acquainted the guests with the work of the institution.
He showed the toxicological laboratory, the seed department and the plant protection department. He spoke about the research that is being carried out on the territory of the regional branch - this is the determination of the active substance in pesticide preparations and the quality of dressing. These studies allow farmers not only to protect the crop, but also to increase it, as well as save money. A PCR laboratory and new equipment were also demonstrated, allowing a wide range of studies, including the determination of the content of pesticide residues in crop products and other objects.
Specialists of the Seed Department spoke about the types of work carried out by the department. This is the determination of sowing and varietal qualities of seeds, as well as certification of seed and planting material.
The department of plant protection spoke about the ongoing monitoring in the region, about which diseases prevail in the fields this year, as well as about the very successful fight against pathogens using biological products.
The final part of the tour was a visit to the agro-tourist park "Ponomarevo", the main activity of which is the cultivation of the world's best varieties of melons and vegetables.
The farm is a testing ground for Russian and foreign producers of seeds, melons and vegetables. For 10 years he has tested over 600 varieties of watermelons, about 200 varieties of melon, 20 varieties of pumpkin.
This year, in the competition between melon growers at AgroBattle 2022 in the nomination "the largest pumpkin", the Ponomarevo farm with a weight of 299 kg became the undisputed leader.
