The Swiss authorities have tightened sanctions against Belarus. This was reported on the website of the Swiss government.

With the new sanctions, Switzerland is guided "by the decisions taken by the European Union," the report said.

New restrictions were introduced in the financial sector. In particular, Switzerland imposes sanctions on the issuance of "financial instruments" and trade in them, on the provision of loans and insurance services. In addition, the country imposes an embargo on the supply of equipment to Belarus, which "can be used to monitor or intercept Internet traffic and telephone conversations."

Switzerland, like other EU countries, accuses Belarus of violating human rights.
