Lavrov announced the "military frenzy" of the United States on the issue of "punishment" of Russia

The United States and European countries are in a “military frenzy” due to potential sanctions against Russia. This was stated by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a plenary session of the State Duma.

“As for the sanctions, we see that our Western colleagues, without exaggeration, are in some kind of military frenzy,” Lavrov said (quoted by TASS). According to him, in the West they only say: “You will attack, we will punish, we will save Ukraine, it will not seem enough.”

The United States threatens to impose sanctions against Russia in the event of an escalation of the conflict in Ukraine. Thus, Democrats and Republicans in the US Congress have already developed options for restrictive measures. For example, Democratic Senator Robert Menendez proposed sanctions against the Russian leadership, including President Vladimir Putin, financial institutions, the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, and Russian public debt.

At the same time, Republican Congressman Jim Banks also proposed restrictions on Putin, his family and entourage, Olympic champion in rhythmic gymnastics Alina Kabaeva, as well as against 35 other Russians, including businessmen, officials, heads of state channels and managers of state corporations.
