Kudrin did not comment on the inclusion in the US sanctions list

Alexey Kudrin, former HEAD of the Accounts Chamber, corporate governance adviser to Yandex, did not comment on the inclusion of his person in the US sanctions list. He wrote about this in his TELEGRAM channel.

“Today I was on the US sanctions list. The formal justification is work in the technology sector. For now, I will leave it without comment,” Kudrin said.

The United States also imposed sanctions against First Deputy Finance Minister Leonid Gornin, Deputy Head of the FSB Sergei Korolev, and Acting Head of the Smolensk Region Vasily Anokhin. In addition, Solidarity, Loko-bank, Tinkoff Bank and Unistream banks were subject to restrictions.

The fact that Kudrin, who went to work at Yandex from the Accounts Chamber, was sanctioned because of his work in the “technological sector of the economy” of RUSSIA, was reported by the US State Department . The American diplomatic service also called Kudrin "closely associated" with President Vladimir Putin.

Kudrin resigned from the Accounts Chamber, which he had headed since 2018, in November 2022 on Putin's nomination. Prior to that, in 2000-2011, he was the Minister of Finance. In December, Kudrin announced that he had begun working at Yandex.
