
A new, fourth, wave of coronavirus will come to Russia within the next three months. This forecast was voiced by a leading researcher in the field of molecular biology, virology and immunology, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Petr Chumakov. In St. Petersburg, according to the mathematical modeling of the NTI Center of SPbPU, the rise in the incidence may begin as early as mid-September.

For example, in Russia, a very small proportion of COVID samples are subjected to genomic sequencing, which allows timely detection of new strains and making predictions based on these data.
