This increase indicates the rapid development of the pandemic: before, such an increase occurred within three weeks, and not one.

“We see a very strong increase in infections, but we also know that in France we have a very high vaccination coverage [and] we are far ahead of our neighbors in revaccination,” the government spokesman said.

However, in such a situation, the authorities will tighten control over the use of "sanitary passes" - certificates indicating a past illness or vaccination. In recent days, the number of checks on their use has increased. In four days, 70 thousand inspections were carried out in relation to people and more than 4.3 thousand in relation to enterprises.
