The UN appreciated the requirement to let only vaccinated people into assembly meetings

UN Secretary-General António Guterres does not have the authority to force delegates from member countries of the organization to show proof that they have been vaccinated against the coronavirus. This was announced during a briefing by the official representative of Guterres Stefan Dujarric.

Earlier, the authorities of American New York, where the UN headquarters is located, said that everyone who will attend meetings of the UN General Assembly must confirm that they have been vaccinated against COVID-19 .

“The Secretary General does not have the power to force delegates to do anything,” Dujarric said.
