
The Rostov region has passed the peak of the third wave of CORONAVIRUS. This was stated by the chief sanitary DOCTOR of the region Yevgeny Kovalev during a meeting of the regional headquarters to combat the spread of covid-19 .
“According to our estimates, the peak of the third wave in the region has passed, and in terms of the intensity of the epidemic process, we are now on a plateau with an established trend towards a decrease in the incidence,” Kovalev said.
At the same time, he also stressed that the epidemiological situation in the Rostov region remains tense.
“Patients are detected in all administrative territories, and therefore, tension remains for the healthcare system and high occupancy of covid hospitals. At the same time, for the first time in 10 weeks, the incidence was, although not significantly, lower than the previous week, ”said the chief sanitary doctor.
As RBC Rostov previously reported, over the past day on the Don, 481 more people became infected with the coronavirus. On the morning of August 31, on a cumulative basis, the total number of infected people reached 124,411.
