Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Bashkortostan Irina Kononova said at a meeting with journalists that people with serious illnesses should be vaccinated against COVID-19 with the EpiVacCoron vaccine.
“We recommend that chronic patients, including those with oncological pathology in remission, after acute illnesses (heart attack, stroke), people with arterial hypertension, get vaccinated with EpiVacCorona. But only if the disease is not in the acute phase, ”Kononova is quoted by Komsomolskaya Pravda.
She added that EpiVacCorona is suitable for patients with diabetes, but on condition that the blood glucose level is kept normal, as well as in the presence of regular therapy without complications of the disease.
The EpiVacCorona coronavirus vaccine was created by specialists from the Novosibirsk Center for Virology and Biotechnology Vector. The drug was registered on October 13, 2020. EpiVacCorona became the second Russian vaccine against COVID-19. It was created on the basis of artificially synthesized short fragments of viral proteins. With their help, the immunity of a vaccinated person must “learn” to recognize virus cells.
