1 October, Minsk . The Sharkovshchina District has seen an increase in milk and meat production, Dmitry Lomako, chairman of the Sharkovshchina District Executive Committee, told a BELTA correspondent.
"The plant growing industry has let us down a bit due to weather conditions, however, our livestock production is showing good growth this year - about 107% in milk and meat production," said Dmitry Lomako.According to him, this year was very difficult for farmers due to extreme weather conditions in the spring and summer, when not a single millimeter of precipitation fell for more than 60 days. Nevertheless, over 23 thousand tons of grain were threshed, although they expected more. However, in the context of the entire region, the result of the district is noticeable.
The best agricultural workers of Sharkovshchina were recently honored during the regional "Dazhynak". The chairman of the district executive committee considers it important to notice and celebrate such people. They are an example in their organizations and an incentive for others, because anyone can achieve such results.
Among those awarded was Nikolai Protas, a driver of the Markov Municipal Unitary Production (Agricultural) Enterprise in Sharkovshchinsky District. He said that he had transported 1,190 tons of grain during the season. "The work is familiar, I always work like this, that's why I have achieved success," he noted. He sees the secret to his success in good equipment and extensive experience. He has been working as a driver at the Markov Enterprise for 25 years, and his total work experience as a driver is over 45 years. Nikolai Protas admitted that he is pleased to be among the best, and he is glad that his work has been appreciated.
