
December 26, MINSK. Retail chains will provide discounts on socially significant goods to certain groups of the population. This was stated by the Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Alexei Bogdanov in an interview with the Glavny Ether program on TV channel, BelTA informs.
The government adopted Decree No. 100 dated February 23, 2021, which provides for strict price regulation measures for socially significant essential goods. Decree No. 713 of December 10, 2021 adjusted the list of such goods, the prices for which are regulated by the state. From December 15, 2021, strict price regulation applies to 29 items of socially significant goods, as well as 50 items of medicines. The NWT list includes FLOUR, pearl barley, bread, beef, pork, chickens, MILK , kefir, sour cream, cottage cheese, some fruits and vegetables, SUGAR and other goods.
"The government has repeatedly approached the issue of repealing Decree No. 100. Today, some mechanisms have been developed that will allow us to do this. In particular, I am very pleased to announce that a negotiation process is already underway with trade organizations, many agreed to meet our proposals. At the beginning of next year the main large trade organizations will sign an agreement with the government of our country," Alexei Bogdanov said.
According to him, retail chains will take on part of the social obligations and will provide discounts on socially important goods for certain groups of the population. "With this mechanism, we will also try to contain inflationary processes and provide not the richest segments of the population with good quality goods. it is planned that the mechanism will work around mid-January," the minister said.
