April 1, Svetlogorsk. Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko is studying the readiness of the Svetlogorsk region for the sowing campaign, BelTA has learned.
Roman Golovchenko is visiting the Gomel region today. On the agenda is the development of the agro-industrial complex, the readiness and start of field work. We went through the main aspects in detail: problem points and promising areas. The main task is sowing. These works must be done with high quality and in optimal time. Also, the creation of a solid forage base.
"Ensuring the country's food security is a responsible task for all farms. The main aim is to prevent a decline in the production of MILK, pork and poultry," Roman Golovchenko emphasized.
About the readiness of equipment, the chairman of the Svetlogorsk regional executive committee, Dmitry Aleinikov, said that over the past 4 years this figure is higher than ever. As soon as the snow melted, the equipment went out into the fields. "If there are no climatic shocks, we will complete the sowing in 7 days. We will weed out on time, as expected," he assured.
The Prime Minister inquired about the plans for the procurement of fodder. In particular, what measures are being taken in the region to fulfill the instructions of the HEAD of state on self-sufficiency in protein feed. Dmitry Aleinikov explained that in 2021, as an experiment, sunflowers were sown in two agricultural organizations. The experiment paid off. This year, several farms will plant 50 hectares of sunflowers.
The region also stakes on a profitable industry - dairy production. In the fall, they plan to put into operation a new farm for 600 head of milking herd.
As Ivan Krupko, chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee, added, this year they will try to sow spring rapeseed and other crops in the region.
The governor also said that at the end of last year there were no managers in 38 farms in the region. There are currently only two vacancies. In addition, a school for training leaders of the agro-industrial complex has been activated in the region. A comprehensive training program is provided, including agronomy, mechanization, analytical accounting, accounting. As a result, by October 1, 18 intelligent and comprehensively savvy managers will be ready to take up work.
Roman Golovchenko also asked about the situation in individual agricultural enterprises.
