30 January, Brest. Brest Region aims to increase food supplies to African markets. This was announced by First Deputy Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee Dmitry Gorodetsky during a meeting of the regional executive committee, which reviewed the results of the region's socio-economic development in 2024 , BelTA has learned.

"Processing enterprises completed the year with good results. Dairy production increased by 8.3%, MEAT by 4.6%, feed mill and grain processing plant products by 4.2%. 73% of dairy and 41% of meat products were exported . The main share of EXPORT deliveries is the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of CHINA," noted Dmitry Gorodetsky. Exports of food products and agricultural raw materials increased by almost 15% over the year.

The first deputy chairman of the regional executive committee urged the region's producers to increase their presence on the African continent. "We are already present in the markets of 11 countries, there are eight exporters. These are the Berezovsky and Brest meat-packing plants, Belsolod and Savushkin Product, Zhabinka SUGAR plant, Pruzhany dairy plant , Saria. As for the range of products supplied, these are by-products, whole MILK powder , skimmed milk powder, meat and bone meal , malt, beet pulp. We will continue to work to expand our presence in these markets and enter others," said Dmitry Gorodetsky.

In general, Brest Region supplies food products and agricultural raw materials to 68 countries. In particular, in 2024, the volumes of exports of cheeses and cottage cheese, butter, and sausages were increased.
