December 11, MINSK . The first transaction for the sale of butter to Serbia was registered at the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange. BELTA was informed about this by the BUTB press service.
The volume of the trial batch was 20 tons, and the buyer was a Serbian food importer accredited to BUCE in November 2023. Prior to this, the activities of Serbian companies in exchange trading were limited only to the purchase of lumber. BUCE expects that after working out the entire scheme for purchasing butter through the exchange platform, supplies of these products to the Serbian market will become regular.“The last few months have been characterized by increased activity of foreign buyers at exchange trading in dairy products. As a result, in October-December, more than 4.4 thousand tons of butter and almost 6 thousand tons of powdered MILK were sold for EXPORT . For comparison, for the entire last year the total volume of exchange sales for these commodity items amounted to 660 tons and 1.2 thousand tons, respectively.Currently, the main sales market for domestic dairy products is RUSSIA , however, during 2023, import transactions were also registered by companies from CHINA and Poland.Now Serbia has added to this list,” the BUTB press service said.
As of December 1, 2023, 6,790 companies (non-residents of Belarus) from 70 countries were accredited at BUCE, including three from Serbia. At the end of 11 months, exports of agricultural products through the exchange platform increased by 23% compared to the same period in 2022. The most popular product items abroad included butter and rapeseed oil , SUGAR , beet pulp and molasses.
