Belarus and Russia want to give up paper veterinary certificates in trade, said in Minsk

Belarus and the Russian Federation want to abandon the use of paper veterinary certificates in mutual trade, said on Tuesday in MINSK the technical DIRECTOR of the Intersectoral Scientific and Practical Center of Identification Systems and Electronic Business Transactions Gennady Volnasy.

Manufacturers in the Russian Federation should issue veterinary certificates for animal products in electronic form in the system "Mercury" from July 1, 2018. For a number of products, the introduction of electronic veterinary certificates was postponed. Starting July 1, 2019, it became mandatory to issue veterinary certificates for all finished livestock products, except for some dairy products.

"Mutual integration of information systems for traceability of livestock products - Belarusian AITS and Russian Mercury - is nearing completion. We have already accepted about 600 electronic certificates from the Russian Federation for products shipped to Belarus. In the third quarter, we plan to begin receiving and providing Russian electronic veterinary certificates for controlled products, shipped to Belarus from RUSSIA," BelTA quoted the Wavy Agency.

According to him, the parties are striving to abolish paper veterinary certificates in the domestic market and are working to address this issue. "Just a month ago, a letter from ROSSELKHOZNADZOR came in. Given the successful technical progress, they offer to work on the abolition of paper certificates in the format of mutual trade," said the director of the center.
