Researchers note that this nutritional component promises increased MILK yield and MEAT weight gain. The development is being tested at one of the region's livestock farms. Wheat, rye, barley, corn, and peas: traditional crops are a source of essential nutrients for farm animals. Vladimir Aksyonov has been developing an energy drink for over ten years that contains the necessary nutrients for growth, weight gain, and milk yield. One of the key components is glucose.
"Glucose provides energy, which is especially important for the Siberian region. During cold weather, animals need additional energy to maintain their metabolism at the same level as during hot weather," explained Vladimir Aksyonov, a senior researcher at the Institute of Solid State Chemistry and Mechanochemistry of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The scientist developed a special technology and built a miniature industrial unit. Crushed grain is poured into tanks, and the unit operates like a blender. The friction process generates heat, turning the mixture into a nutritious, sweet molasses high in glucose.
Viktor Zaitsev, a laboratory research assistant at the Institute of Solid State Chemistry and Mechanochemistry of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, explained that it takes 5-7 hours for starch granules to undergo specific heat and enzymatic treatment. Protein is then added to the molasses and dried in a special unit. Using this technology, scientists have developed a whole line of nutritional feed additives and are now testing them on farms.
Within two weeks, the subjects' metabolism accelerated,The piglets no longer fear the cold and even began to walk and gain weight at -30°C. The same technology can be used to produce nutritional supplements for cows. However, the experiment on the farm has only just begun. The results are expected in six months.
