This year is expected to be the third-largest year of production on record, driven by continued high female slaughter rates and increased feedlot production, which will result in higher slaughter weights. On the other hand, exports are also expected to reach a new record, increasing 2.5% from 2024 to reach 1.95 million tonnes.
The report highlights that a rebound in US cattle numbers will drive demand for Australian beef , supporting the upward trend in exports. “2025 will mark the start of a new cycle for US cattle, driving demand for Australian beef,” the report says.
The combination of these factors confirms Australia's position as a major player in the global MEAT trade.
