According to Sergey Yakovenko, HEAD of the Altragene laboratory, large fetuses are a common problem in cloning, and researchers are continuing to work to reduce this risk. Previously, culture media containing bovine serum containing growth factors could contribute to increased calf weight. Now, a synthetic medium is being used, which has shown positive results.

All newbornsThe calves were manually cloned from the cells of a high-yielding Holstein cow, which produced an average of 18 tons of MILK per lactation. To date, the laboratory has created over 400 embryos of cloned bulls, and work is underway to test their reproductive capacity and maintain high milk production. The company's cryobank holds over 200 embryos of the cloned cow, Zvezdochka.
