Tatarstan aims to increase meat production: ambitious plans and prospects

The situation on the Russian MEAT market has been changing in recent years, especially in border regions such as the Kursk and Belgorod regions, which face certain challenges. This opens up unique opportunities for Tatarstan, which has impressive land resources - approximately 3.5 million hectares of arable land. In 2024 , the gross agricultural output of the republic amounted to more than 341.3 billion rubles, of which 181 billion rubles came from livestock farming, which creates a solid basis for further growth.

Akhmetov identified several key areas for capturing the meat market:

  1. Increasing production capacity through the modernization of existing enterprises and the construction of new meat processing plants.
  2. Investments in modern technologies to improve quality and reduce costs.
  3. Development of transport and logistics infrastructure to optimize supplies.
  4. Supporting farmers and cooperatives with a focus on access to finance and educational programs.
  5. Active promotion of Tatarstan products on the Russian and international markets, emphasizing their quality and environmental friendliness.

Given current trends and potential, Tatarstan has every chance to become one of the leading players in the Russian meat market. Effective implementation of the strategy will not only improve the economic situation, but also create new jobs, promoting the development of rural areas and strengthening the republic's position as an agricultural region of the country.
