
The arbitration COURT found that the animals' deaths were due to non-compliance with veterinary regulations, considered extraordinary circumstances. As a result, nearly 47,000 pigs were culled in December 2020. The company had previously filed a lawsuit after initial claims for damages were unsuccessful. Despite the difficulties, in the spring of 2022, the court partially upheld the claim and ordered the veterinary department to pay 194.5 million rubles for damages from the pig seizures.
