The manufacturer of MEAT semi-finished products, sausages and canned food from the Stavropol Territory "Meat Processing Plant "Delikatesy" is fully provided with casings for production. This was reported to RBC Caucasus by the company.
Earlier, the media published information that the Russian market may experience a shortage of packaging needed in the meat processing industry.
“We don’t feel a shortage of film, since our suppliers have their own production facilities in RUSSIA and fully cover our company’s need for it (we cooperate with Kuban Flex, which is the exclusive distributor of Cryovac),” the company said.
At the same time, the company noted that there was indeed a crisis with casings for the production of sausages in the country. The import of a large number of types of casings for these products collapsed, manufacturers began to switch to alternative market players.
According to the IPC "Delicatessen", deliveries are carried out from the countries of Asia and Belarus. This primarily concerns such types of casings as protein and fibrous casings for the production of boiled-smoked sausages. Previously, the plant cooperated with many European countries, but now the supply of component materials has been reoriented to CHINA and Japan.
Despite the fact that the enterprise's costs have affected the total raw material cost of production, the plant strives not to shift them into the cost of production and restrains the rise in prices for manufactured products.
“The market for materials for the production of meat products of deep processing is very specific, but flexible. At the moment, the industry has already adjusted to alternative casings and is adapting them to its production. We test many types of new shells, we accept the most optimal ones for implementation. The only problem of parallel import of casings from China is connected only with the fact that the logistical shoulder is lengthened and the time for obtaining the casing can sometimes be significantly increased,” the Delicacies MPK said.
According to the SPARK system, MPK Delikatesy LLC registered the village of Ulyanovka in the Mineralnye Vody Okrug of the Stavropol Territory in 2017. The main activity is the processing and preservation of meat. The HEAD of the company is Ekaterina Kostina. The company's share in 99% is owned by Gvardiya LLC, another 1% is owned by RSHB-Finance LLC. At the end of 2021, the company's income amounted to 365.2 million rubles, and the loss was 513.1 million rubles.
As RBC Rostov reported, the largest Don food casing manufacturer Atlantis-Pak (part of the Agrocom Group) stated that the company's production facilities, together with other Russian manufacturers, are able to 100% cover the needs of the domestic market in packaging for meat processing products.
According to the company, relevant enterprises and distributors have built up significant stocks of casings, including imported products. At the same time, according to the company's information, Russian manufacturers of food casings are in a difficult situation and, given the current exchange rate of the ruble, they risk falling into a crisis if the possibility of importing casings from EU member states remains possible.
