Since 2010, Russia has doubled its poultry and pork production, a significant achievement for the domestic agricultural sector. In 2024 , livestock and poultry production for slaughter reached 16.9 million tonnes in live weight, 6.4 million tonnes more than in 2010. The largest growth was observed in the chicken and pork segments, where poultry production increased from 3.8 to 7.2 million tonnes, and pork from 3 to 6.3 million tonnes. This underscores not only the growth of domestic production but also the country's ability to fully meet its own needs for these types of meat.
Turkey production also deserves special attention, having increased nearly eightfold in recent years—from 58,000 tons in 2010 to 438,000 tons in 2024. Russia has taken first place in Europe for turkey production, demonstrating the high level of competitiveness of this product on the international stage.
Russia not only actively supplies its domestic market but also exports meat products to various countries, including China , Vietnam , and Saudi Arabia. The transition from a major importer to an exporter was made possible by the introduction of modern technologies and improved product quality.
Thus, the successful competition of Russian producers in the international market is confirmed by growing export volumes. It is expected that future production growth, expanded export potential, and competitiveness will continue to strengthen Russia's position in the meat market, contributing to both the country's economic development and improving the quality of life of its population.
