The press service of the ROSSELKHOZNADZOR reports that on Tuesday, June 8, negotiations were held via videoconference with the participation of specialists from the Russian Trade Representation in CHINA with the Main Customs Administration of the PRC.
The parties discussed the organization of a video inspection of five large enterprises - suppliers of beef and poultry MEAT - until the end of June. The initiative came from the GTU of the PRC, which sent a letter to the Rosselkhoznadzor about the possibility and necessity of inspecting meat processing plants in an online format.
The GTU of the PRC already practices online inspection of existing and potential exporters in 54 countries of the world. During the video broadcast, suppliers confirm the compliance of raw materials, production technologies and finished products with the requirements of the Chinese Veterinary Service , as well as the recommendations of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World HEALTH Organization (WHO).
Rosselkhoznadzor received the current FAO and WHO recommendations “COVID-19 and food safety” in 2020 and immediately sent the document to the management of five companies where inspections will be organized in the near future. The recommendations are accompanied by a list of questions regarding the prevention of outbreaks of a new CORONAVIRUS infection among personnel and contamination of goods with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
During the negotiations, the Rosselkhoznadzor suggested discussing the possibility of expanding the list of poultry meat exporters to China , sent in advance by the GTU of the PRC. Chinese representatives replied that they are studying the documents received and will report on the decision based on the results of their analysis.
