Meat production in the Oryol region for the I quarter increased by 6.9%, milk - decreased by 0.5%

In January-March 2021, livestock breeders of the Oryol region produced 56.7 thousand tons of MEAT in live weight, which is 6.9% more than in the same period last year, Orelstat said.

In all categories of farms during the reporting period, 35.1 thousand tons of MILK were received (a decrease by 0.5%), 7.4 million eggs (a decrease by 8.4%).

As of April 1, the number of cattle in farms of all categories totaled 146.1 thousand animals (a decrease of 7.2%), including 41.8 thousand cows (an increase of 0.2%). The number of pigs amounted to 683.6 thousand (an increase of 20.4%), sheep and goats - 57.7 thousand (an increase of 1%), poultry - 2.5 million heads (an increase of 20.6%).
