The Ministry of Agriculture announced an increase in the cost of meat from agricultural producers in the Russian Federation

The growth in the cost of half-carcasses of pork from agricultural producers in RUSSIA amounted to 4.1% per week (by December 22). The price of this MEAT reached 172.34 thousand rubles per ton (excluding VAT). This was reported by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation with reference to the operational data of the food safety monitoring and forecasting system.

Also during this period, the cost of pigs in live weight from agricultural producers increased by 4.1%, to 112.29 thousand rubles per ton.

According to Rosstat, Russian agricultural organizations produced 4.4 million tons of pork in January-November 2021, thereby increasing the figure by 1.4% compared to the same period in 2020.

Also for a week (by December 22) the price of beef has grown. The cost of cattle (in live weight) amounted to 130.84 thousand rubles per ton, which is 0.1% more than a week earlier.

According to Rosstat, Russian agricultural organizations produced 960.9 thousand tons of cattle in January-November 2021, which is 5.2% more than in the same period of 2020.

As for chicken meat, the cost of live poultry amounted to 99.78 thousand rubles per ton, which is 0.8% more than a week earlier.

According to Rosstat, Russian agricultural organizations in January-November 2021 reduced poultry production by 0.9% compared to the same period last year, to 5.6 million tons.

In total, in January-November last year, in agricultural organizations of the Russian Federation, the production of livestock and poultry (in live weight) amounted to 11.1 million tons, which is 0.6% higher than the same period in 2020.
