Mexico: Pork Trade Balance Shows Deficit in Q1 2025

Mexican pork trade in the first quarter of 2025, annual fluctuations. Prepared by 333 Latin America using data from the Agricultural Market Advisory Group (AMAG).

At the end of the first quarter of 2025, pork exports decreased by 19.8% compared to the same period in 2024 , from 50,311 to 40,368 tons (t).

The EXPORT value ( US $202.7 million ) decreased by 1.9%, while the average export price increased to US$5,022/t, up 22.3% from US$4,016/t in the same period last year.

Total pork imports in the first quarter of 2025 amounted to 459,469 tons, up 15.2% compared to the same period in 2024.

The total value reached US$965.6 million, with the estimated price at US$2,102/t, up 6.7% from the average recorded for the same period last year (US$1,969/t).

During the first quarter, about 6,043 tons of pork came from Chile and 6,080 tons from Brazil.
