At the ceremonial meeting summing up the year's results, Governor Alexander Khinshtein noted that, despite current difficulties, the region continues to develop: new production facilities are emerging and output is growing. He added that the Kursk Region ranks fifth in Russia for meat production and third for pork. Agricultural exports over the first 11 months exceeded $700 million.
Agriculture Minister Natalia Goncharova presented a report on the performance of all agricultural sectors, stating that 4.1 million tons of grain were produced this year, 70% of which met food standards. Strong results were also achieved in other crops: sugar beet production amounted to 4.3 million tons, and the gross harvest of oilseeds was 1.3 million tons.
Land reclamation also plays a key role in the region's development, with 20 projects underway covering 15,500 hectares in 2025. This work is planned to continue in 2026. State support in the agricultural sector has totaled 6.7 billion rubles, with total investment exceeding 30 billion rubles.
The region is actively expanding its export geography, projecting a volume of $830 million by the end of the year. Products are exported to more than 50 countries, including the Republic of Belarus and India. Training personnel for the agricultural industry is also an important focus, with the creation of agricultural technology classes in schools. At the end of the event, industry workers were awarded for their contributions to agricultural development.
