Kostroma breed of cows: development prospects and value in modern animal husbandry

In honor of the breed's anniversary, a scientific and practical conference on the topic "Domestic cattle breeds as a driving force for the development of livestock farming" was held in the Kostroma Agricultural Academy in the Kostroma Region. The conference participants discussed important issues about the current state and prospects of selection and breeding work with the Kostroma breed, preserving the diversity of breeds in RUSSIA and assessing the breeding value of small cattle populations. Cooperation between scientists, livestock specialists and government agencies to improve the Kostroma breed will continue.
