Due to recent events, the importance of Russia as the 24th major destination for Brazilian exports may increase even further.
The agreement between Brazil and Russia was preceded by thorough inspections carried out by the Russian delegation at various production plants in six Brazilian states and the Federal District. These inspections covered cold storage warehouses, livestock and poultry farms, and official laboratories, ensuring strict sanitary controls were maintained throughout the entire production chain. Consequently, temporary restrictions on some manufacturing plants in Brazil were lifted, paving the way for increased trade relations.
The accreditation of new production facilities for EXPORT means the expansion of Brazil's capacity to include activities such as poultry slaughter and deboning, poultry by-products and fats, and animal meal production. Roberto Perosa, Minister of Trade and International Relations of MAPA, emphasized the importance of this partnership, highlighting Brazil's commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety.
In 2023, Brazilian beef and poultry exports to Russia amounted to $306 million, representing 24% of total supplies to the Russian market. This mutually beneficial trade relationship is poised for further growth, highlighting Brazil's position as a trusted supplier of high-quality poultry products on the global stage.
