Brazil opens two new markets for egg exports

According to the Brazilian Livestock Association (ABPA), Brazilian egg producers can now EXPORT eggs to two South American markets: Argentina and Chile. Both International HEALTH Certificates (CSIs) were issued last week, allowing Brazil to supply fresh eggs to these markets.

The CSIs have been published by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply and are valid for all states, in the case of Argentina; and for all businesses located in Rio Grande do Sul, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Sao Paulo, in the case of Chile.

Brazilian egg exports from Brazil performed well in 2021. According to preliminary data calculated by ABPA, over the first two months, the sector saw growth of more than 150%, and this figure should continue into March. With the opening of Argentina and Chile - markets that are geographically closer than the sector's current main export destination, the United Arab Emirates - there are good expectations for even more sales growth in the sector.

“The proximity of the markets contributes to sales in this sector. Brazil has established itself as a major producer and is now looking for new markets to sell eggs produced in the country. With these two markets open to Brazilian suppliers, there are good expectations for business expansion,” said Ricardo Santin, President of ABPA.
