February 14, MINSK. The circumstances of two murders are being established in Minsk. BelTA was informed about this by Ekaterina Garlinskaya, official representative of USC in Minsk.

"In January, two murders with particular cruelty were committed on the territory of the Pervomaisky district of the capital. According to the investigation, on the night of January 16, a 36-year-old Minsk resident, being on the landing of the 6th floor of a residential building on Gintovta Street, during a quarrel with a neighbor that arose on the basis of personal hostile relationship, inflicted at least 13 stab wounds on the man, and a 25-year-old young man died from his injuries at the scene before the arrival of an ambulance," the USC said.

The cause of the conflict was the behavior of the person involved - at night he knocked on the batteries and on the ceiling. A neighbor living on the floor above decided to go downstairs, make a remark and ask them to stop making noise. it should be noted that the defendant had no previous convictions and was sober at the time of the crime.

Another murder was committed on January 22. It was established that a 42-year-old man, in a state of alcoholic intoxication , while at the place of residence, inflicted at least 14 stabs on various parts of the body to his 50-year-old wife. The woman died on the spot. The motive for the crime was jealousy. The suspect has previously been convicted of theft, robbery, malicious hooliganism, and also for evading payment of alimony.

In both cases, investigative teams went to the scene of the incident, inspections were carried out, items and objects related to the incident were confiscated, witnesses were interrogated, complex forensic examinations were appointed, the production of which was entrusted to the specialists of the State Committee for Combating Expertise.

According to these facts, the investigation department of the USC for the city of Minsk initiated criminal cases under clause 6, part 2, article 139 (murder committed with extreme cruelty) of the Criminal Code.

The men were promptly identified and detained by the criminal investigation department of the capital. They were charged, both were taken into custody and kept in a pre-trial detention center. It should be noted that they did not work anywhere.

The criminal investigation is ongoing.

The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for up to 25 years.
