December 5, Minsk. The prosecutor's office of the city of Minsk sent a criminal case to court on charges of a 39-year-old Minsk resident of violating traffic rules, which negligently caused serious bodily injury. This was reported to BelTA in the information service of the prosecutor's office of the city of Minsk.
According to the case file, on June 7, 2022, at about 7 p.m., the driver of a BMW car was moving along Chkalova Street in Minsk and intended to turn left onto Voronyansky Street. When choosing a speed, the accused did not take into account the intensity of traffic, was distracted from control, lost control of the traffic situation and committed an accident. So, when turning left at a traffic light, the BMW driver did not give way to the motorcycle. He was driving in the opposite direction also to the permission signal and had the right of way to move in the intended direction. As a result of the accident, the motorcyclist received serious bodily injuries due to signs of danger to life and indelible disfigurement of the face. It is noted that back in 2014, the accused was deprived of the right to drive a vehicle for driving under the influence of alcohol . After the expiration of the period of deprivation of a special right, he did not apply for a driver's license.
After studying the case materials, the prosecutor's office came to the conclusion that the accusation was justified, the evidence collected was sufficient, and the circumstances of the crime were fully and objectively investigated. We agreed with the qualification of the deed under Part 2 of Article 317 of the Criminal Code of Belarus.
The previously chosen preventive measure against the accused in the form of a personal guarantee, the deputy prosecutor of the city of Minsk, when sending the case to court, left unchanged.
