Metropolitan investigators helped the grandson of a veteran to return the stolen orders and medals

May 4, Minsk . The Frunzensky (Minsk) regional department of the Investigative Committee disclosed the details of the investigation of the criminal case on the theft of nominal medals and orders. This was reported to BelTA by the Investigative Committee.

In January, a 56-year-old man turned to the police, who said that the orders, medals and badges of his grandfather, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, had disappeared from the apartment.

On suspicion of theft, a 40-year-old Minsker was detained, who lived with the victim for several days. One day, an attacker stole awards, albums with stamps, a mobile phone and more than Br400. Some time later, he sold some of the stolen valuables, and a week later he came to a friend and confessed to the theft, returned his phone and money . The victim decided not to go to the police, but the defendant robbed him again. After drinking alcohol, when the owner of the apartment fell asleep, the suspect stole the remaining awards, 13 albums with stamps, a mobile phone, collectible coins, a cigarette case and a watch . On the same day, he sold the valuables to his friend.

The total amount of the stolen goods exceeded Br3 thousand. All property was returned to the victim. Based on the evidence collected in the case, the Minsk resident was charged under part 2 of article 205 (repeated theft) of the Criminal Code. A measure of restraint in the form of a personal guarantee was applied to him.
