The Ministry of HEALTH issued recommendations in connection with the ongoing hot weather, BELTA reports.
During hot weather, people should limit exposure to direct sunlight, seek shade, and avoid going outside during the hottest parts of the day.
"Wear light, loose clothing made of natural fabrics. When going outside, wear a hat and sunglasses. Eat lower-calorie foods, avoid fatty foods, and minimize
MEAT consumption.
it is advisable to avoid meals during the hottest parts of the day, moving them to the morning and evening. Drink plenty of fluids: water, tea, mineral water, fruit drinks, low-fat fermented
MILK drinks, dried fruit infusions, and vitamin-enriched drinks. Avoid carbonated drinks, high-sugar drinks, energy drinks, and alcoholic beverages. It is important to remember that people with kidney or cardiovascular diseases should not increase their fluid intake sharply," the Ministry of Health reminded.
When purchasing perishable foods (such as processed meats, cooked
sausages , salads, dairy
products , pastries, etc.), pay special attention to storage conditions and expiration dates. If the expiration date has expired or the refrigeration equipment is ineffective, do not purchase the product. Food products should be purchased from authorized retailers, not from questionable retail outlets or unauthorized retailers, including those located along highways.
"If you are unwell, do not prepare food for your family or guests under any circumstances; consult a
DOCTOR immediately," the Ministry of Health added.
Also, avoid taking uncooked foods, dairy products,
eggs , and cream-filled pastries on outdoor activities, as they can become a breeding ground for pathogens in hot weather. Food should be kept in a cooler bag and protected from insects, rodents, and other animals.
Personal hygiene is also important. Before preparing and eating food, wash your hands with soap or use a special disinfectant. "Vegetables,
fruits , and utensils should only be washed with bottled or boiled water. While on vacation, do not use water from unauthorized sources for drinking or household purposes, and refrain from using ice to cool drinks," the Ministry emphasized.
Furthermore, swimming is permitted only in bodies of water approved for organized recreation, and swallowing water is prohibited. This should also be explained to children.
