Minsk . MART inspected large chain stores after citizens called the hotline. The department's press service told BELTA what violations were found.
Thus, in retail outlets selling cosmetics, cases of selling expired products were confirmed. For example, in
Minsk, expired sunscreens worth more than Br2.2 thousand were seized. At the same time, the expiration date of some products expired in August and October
2024. And in Gomel, there was no mandatory list of goods for sale. The owner was ordered to eliminate the violations by April 15.
In the chain, which unites stores of various formats throughout the country, there were also cases of selling expired products. Inspectors in Gomel removed about 400 eggs from sale and identified other violations of trade rules.
In the agro-town of Obrovo (Brest region), more than 40 types of goods with expired shelf life were removed from sale at the Ivatsevichi district consumer cooperative: (soft drinks,
meat products, dairy products, confectionery, groceries). The expiration date for some of them (crackers, pork products, soft drinks, nectar) expired more than 3 months ago, for others (chocolate) - more than 6 months. The total cost of goods with expired shelf life offered for sale was Br594.44.
All business entities were sent recommendations on how to eliminate the violations and were issued orders prohibiting the sale of products with expired shelf life.
