Prosecutor's Office conducted an inspection of compliance with legislation aimed at protecting the rights and legitimate interests of children in disadvantaged families and identified problems in a family recently removed from its SOP status, the Grodno Region Prosecutor's Office told BelTA.
Employees of the Svisloch District Prosecutor's Office inspected the living conditions of minors in families at social risk.
During a visit to the family, raising two young children, born in 2021 and 2023, inspectors identified signs of distress. The prosecutor's office explained that by a resolution of the Commission on Minors' Affairs in April 2025, the enforcement of the decision recognizing the family as meeting criteria and indicators of a socially dangerous situation for children was terminated due to the rectification of the problems. However, during monitoring of the family's home, the district prosecutor's office again found unsanitary conditions. At the time of the inspection, the house was in disarray: dirty floors, cluttered rooms, trash strewn everywhere, and a heavy, musty odor. The house had only a minimal supply of food, and a kitchen knife was readily available.
Despite the short period of time following the elimination of the SOP criteria and indicators, the father of the family committed an administrative offense in July 2025—drinking
ALCOHOL in a public place.
As a result, the district
prosecutor's office issued an order to the Department of Education, Sports, and Tourism of the Svisloch District Executive Committee to conduct a social investigation. The prosecutor's office remains monitoring the situation in the "difficult" family.
