The production of vegetables is growing in the farms of the Saratov region

Roman Kovalsky , Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Region - Minister of Agriculture of the Region, got acquainted with the progress of harvesting vegetables and potatoes in the region today using the example of K (F) X Iosif Shegai of the Soviet District. The farm is one of the largest vegetable producers in the region.
The total area of ​​arable land in the peasant farm is 808 hectares. The sown area of ​​agricultural crops in 2023 is 565 hectares, including 115 hectares for onions, 10 hectares for potatoes, 10 hectares for cabbage, 100 hectares for winter wheat, and 330 hectares for sunflowers.
The enterprise has the necessary set of machinery, transport, as well as agricultural equipment. Irrigation of agricultural crops is carried out by a drip irrigation system.
Yury Ugolnikov, HEAD of the agriculture department of the administration of the Soviet MR, said that this year the farm of Joseph Shegai plans to produce 6,500 tons of vegetables and potatoes. This is 3% higher than last year.
“In total, since the beginning of the harvesting campaign, 13,987 tons of vegetables and 2,576 tons of potatoes have been harvested in agricultural enterprises and K (F) X of the region,” Roman Kovalsky specified.
