A record corn harvest is expected in the Tambov region

In the Tambov region, at the end of 2021, a record corn harvest for grain is expected. According to the forecasts of specialists of the regional department of agriculture, it is planned to harvest more than one million tons of grain crops.

Tambov agrarians intend to achieve a record harvest by increasing the sown area. This year, 162 thousand hectares of agricultural fields were sown with corn, which is 24 thousand hectares more than in 2020. In addition, the yield of grain crops exceeds last year's figures - 63.2 centners per hectare (2020 - 62 centners per hectare).
According to operational data, 44% of the corn crop has been harvested from the fields in the Tambov region. Gross harvest exceeds 450 thousand tons.

The leader in the collection of corn for grain is the Rasskazovsky district. Local agricultural producers have collected more than 57 thousand tons of crops. Over 45 thousand tons of corn is the contribution of the farmers of the Inzhavinsky district, more than 44 thousand tons are harvested in the Petrovsky district.

The highest yield was achieved by agricultural producers of the Sosnovsky district - 84 centners per hectare. Over 70 centners of corn per hectare of fields are harvested by farmers of Bondarsky, Morshansky, Pervomaisky, Staroyurevsky, Tambov regions.
