
2000 hectares of grain and leguminous crops have been threshed in the region, which is 90% of the plan. The head of the regional Ministry of Agriculture Roman Kovalsky spoke about this today at a permanent meeting under the Governor of the Saratov Region Roman Busargin.
The farms have completed the harvesting of early grain crops, and the harvesting of late crops - millet, buckwheat, sorghum, and corn is underway.
“Today, 235 thousand hectares of grain crops remain to be harvested, of which 177 thousand hectares are corn,” Roman Kovalsky specified.
In total, to date, 5 million 718 thousand tons have been harvested in the region with an average yield of 28.6 centners per hectare, including winter wheat - 4 million 176 thousand tons.
Recall that services for the storage of grain and oilseeds are provided by more than 50 elevators and grain receiving enterprises with 3.4 million tons of one-time storage tanks, including the capacity of elevators in the Left Bank is 1.5 million tons of one-time storage, in the Right Bank - 1, 9 million tons. The capacity of water-type elevators is 360 thousand tons. Taking into account the storage capacities of agricultural producers, the total grain storage capacity in the region is 7.2 million tons.
As of September 21, according to the results of monitoring of 50 enterprises, 1,009 million tons of grain of a new crop were received by the enterprises of bakery products. The remaining grain in the region, taking into account carry-over stocks, is over 5.5 million tons, sunflower oil seeds - about 285 thousand tons.
In addition to grain harvesting, the region's farmers are harvesting sunflower, which has been harvested 9,000 tons, sugar beet (41,000 tons harvested), digging potatoes (today's harvest is 123,000 tons), and picking vegetables. The harvest of open ground vegetables amounted to 168 thousand tons.
