The harvesting campaign in the Rostov region passed its "equator" during the weekend. This was announced by the first deputy governor Viktor Goncharov.
“The Don harvest is not slowing down and has already passed its “equator” - the region's farms have harvested more than 1.9 million hectares, which is more than 57% of the total harvested area. The gross harvest has already exceeded 7.8 million tons of grain. The average yield is 40.7 c/ha and exceeds last year's figures by 10%.
Farms of all districts of the region participate in the harvest. However, the largest areas were harvested by the farmers of the Zimovnikovsky district - more than 130 thousand hectares. They are currently the leaders in the gross grain harvest, having already collected 530 thousand tons of grain.
The second place in terms of gross harvest was taken by the farms of the Zernograd region. They have already harvested 518 thousand tons of grain from more than 107 thousand hectares.
The Salsky district closes the top three today. Here, 105.7 thousand hectares have been threshed, the gross harvest for today has amounted to almost 436 thousand tons.
The leadership in terms of the highest yield is retained by Myasnikovsky district (59.2 c/ha), followed by Tselinsky (53 c/ha) and Neklinovsky (52.9 c/ha) districts. More than 50 c/ha also show the fields of Kuibyshev, Matveyevo-Kurgan, Azov and Kagalnitsky districts.
“The main task now is to harvest the grown crop as soon as possible and without losses, while in no case allow agricultural burning,” the first deputy HEAD of the region noted during a visit to a farm in the Volgodonsk region. “Simultaneously with the harvesting work, the soil is being prepared for sowing winter crops for the 2023 harvest.”
