The Sobsky fish hatchery plans to release about 13 million juveniles of one of the most valuable northern fish - muksun into Yamal reservoirs in the summer. This is a million more than last year.
Import-substituting technologies are being introduced at the plant - about half of the eggs laid for incubation are obtained from their own repair and broodstock.
Now the long-awaited period has come at the enterprise, associated with the completion of the incubation of eggs: the process of hatching of the larvae has begun. Immediately after hatching, the larvae are transferred from the incubation shop to the fish tanks for rearing. According to the technology, newborn fry are given valuable food every hour - Artemia crustaceans. Then, dry food will be added to the diet of the grown fry. In the natural environment, whitefish fry will be released from June, after each copy of the sample reaches at least 1.5 grams.
In total, this year, the plant's employees laid for incubation more than 20 million pieces of fertilized whitefish caviar.
“It takes about six months from fertilization and incubation of eggs to hatching of larvae. This is a busy time for fish farmers. First you need to monitor the incubation period, then - the stage of hatching of the larvae. it is important that there are no jumps in water temperature, since a change of even one degree is already undesirable, ”explained Alexander Gorlatov, acting HEAD. general DIRECTOR of the Sobsky fish-breeding plant.
Reproduction of valuable fish species in Yamal is a complex work of the Government of the Autonomous Okrug, research organizations, as well as subsoil users. To date, the Sobsky fish hatchery has already concluded preliminary contracts with fuel and energy enterprises for the release of juveniles as part of compensation measures.
In total, over the past five years, fish farmers have grown and released more than 110 million juvenile whitefish, mainly muksun and whitefish, into the waters of Yamal. A landmark event last year was the opening of a branch of the Sobsky fish hatchery in the village of Tazovsky.
