Don agricultural enterprises signed contracts at the Food Africa 2024 exhibition.

The 9th annual International Exhibition of the Food Industry and Agro-Industrial Sector, "Food Africa 2024," continues in Cairo , Egypt
. The Don region is represented at the exhibition by a collective exhibit featuring leading food and processing companies, covering a total area of ​​96 square meters. The Rostov Region stand showcases products from 25 Don food producers.
The management of several Don companies decided to personally participate in the exhibition, and to date, they have signed contracts with international partners.
Among these were contracts for the supply of red lentils and buckwheat between Mayak LLC and Energy Gate (Egypt), and for the supply of flax, coriander, and peas between Agro Victoria LLC and El Nasr Fo Import (Egypt).
In addition, a meeting on expanding exports was held at the exhibition, attended by the leadership of the Rostov Region Ministry of Agriculture and Food, and representatives of the business community from the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Rostov Region.
A roundtable discussion on expanding agricultural supplies from the Rostov Region was also held, during which negotiations were held between the heads of Rostov Region enterprises and representatives of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Amr El Beltagi, head of the demonstration and tasting pavilion for agricultural products in Cairo, also participated in the roundtable.
Representatives of the Arab Republic of Egypt expressed their willingness to cooperate with food and processing enterprises in the Rostov Region.
According to the Rostov Region Ministry of Agriculture and Food, agricultural products from the Rostov Region are exported to 16 African countries, including Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, Kenya, Tanzania, Sudan, Uganda, Morocco, South Africa, Angola, Mozambique, Rwanda, Congo, Malawi, and Benin. This year, wheat exports to Egypt increased by 10% in volume terms. Grain exports to Morocco and South Africa increased by 1.5 times. Vegetable oil exports to Tunisia also increased by 22% in volume terms, and to Sudan, they doubled. Poultry exports to Angola increased significantly, and exports to Benin began. Also exported this year were small quantities of buckwheat, rice, mineral water, sausages, meat , andfish .
"The share of African countries in the total volume of agricultural exports from the Rostov region is 31% in value terms," ​​said the deputy governor of the Rostov region.Minister of Agriculture and Food Konstantin Rachalovsky. "Overall, agricultural exports to African countries in 2024 totaled 7.3 million tons, worth $ 1.9 billion . Egypt accounts for the majority of exports to African countries, accounting for 63% of the total value."
