Scientists have found that meeting the needs of animals in selenium improves their productivity and prevents diseases.
This microelement performs numerous functions in the body: it regulates metabolism, the work of the endocrine, immune and reproductive systems, and protects against free radicals.

Scientists determined the concentration of selenium in the blood of cows, studied the antioxidant status and metabolic state of animals depending on the level of selenium in the environment in various regions of RUSSIA.

The researchers came to the conclusion that in cows against the background of selenium deficiency, the likelihood of developing multiple organ pathologies affecting the liver, heart, thyroid and gonads increases, MILK production and offspring viability decrease. The study was supported by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.
