
The grain harvest campaign continues in the Rostov region. Farmers, taking advantage of any fine minute, are increasing the pace of harvesting and the volume of the harvest .
“To date, Don farmers have harvested more than 3.3 million tons of grain and leguminous crops,” said First Deputy Governor Viktor Goncharov. - The farms of the region have threshed 806 thousand hectares, or almost 25% of the total harvested area. The average yield is now 41 centners per hectare. The further course of harvesting will depend on weather conditions, for the villagers the main task now is to harvest the grown crops as soon as possible and prevent agricultural burns.”
According to the Don Ministry of Agriculture and Food, in general, 2.8 million tons of winter wheat, more than 147.5 thousand tons of winter and 96 thousand tons of spring barley, more than 227.5 thousand tons of legumes have been harvested to date.
The leaders in the area of harvested early cereals and legumes are the farmers of Zimovnikovsky (more than 77 thousand hectares), Salsky (63 thousand hectares) and Dubovsky (more than 61 thousand hectares) districts.
In terms of gross harvest, Zimovnikovsky and Salsky grain growers are also in the first and second places, having collected 312 and 247 thousand tons, respectively. The farms of the Tselinsky district have taken the third place in terms of grain harvest at the moment, having collected more than 221 thousand tons.
The highest yield was noted in the Kuibyshev region - 59.7 centners per hectare. The second place in terms of productivity is Myasnikovsky district - 53.2 centners per hectare. In Matveevo-Kurgansky and Peschanokopsky districts - 50.5 centners / ha.
Simultaneously with harvesting, the farms are preparing the soil for sowing winter crops for the 2024 harvest.
