US Deputy Secretary of State Brian Nelson calls them "cybercriminals" from the Trickbot Group who "seek to attack critical infrastructure, target US businesses and exploit the international financial system."

Washington considers the above-mentioned Russians involved in the creation of Trojans Dyre and Trickbot, designed to steal financial data. The Treasury Department's report claims that the group's Trojans have infected millions of computers around the world, including those owned by American companies. During the pandemic, US officials say their malware attacked US hospitals, including three medical facilities in Minnesota, where computers and phones were disrupted.

Washington claims that members of the Trickbot Group are linked to Russian intelligence services, and the group's goals in 2020 have been "aligned with those previously set by the Russian intelligence services," the report said. American sanctions against members of the group include the blocking of property, as well as a ban on American companies and individuals from conducting any transactions with them.
