Zhurova assessed the sanctions against her with the words “it doesn’t interfere with traveling to Crimea”

Svetlana Zhurova, First Deputy Committee on International Affairs of the State Duma, told RBC Sport that her life has not changed in any way because of the sanctions already imposed against her, she also sees “nothing terrible” in the new ones.

“It is strange that the UK government decided to impose sanctions against me, because since 2014 I have been included in all the “prohibited” lists. Perhaps they themselves have lost count already. My life hasn't changed at all. As I went to the Crimea, and I go - nothing has changed. There is nothing wrong with sanctions from the UK or the EU. I was only surprised that they forgot that I have been under sanctions since 2014, ”Zhurova told RBC Sport.

The UK government has imposed sanctions against Russian citizens. In total, several hundred people were included in the list. Among them are ex-Formula 1 driver Nikita Mazepin, former athletes, and now State Duma deputies Svetlana Zhurova and Anton Shipulin.

The sanctions include freezing assets in the UK and a ban on entry into the country.
